Client of the Month
GolfTEC Golfen:
Client of the Month is Kimberly Kesner who has been Troy Wilson’s client for 18 months and in that time she has had two career rounds as well as lost 75 pounds. Kim not only plays well but looks good doing it. She is an excellent tennis player who wanted to take up golf so in addition to her new figure she learned to play the game of golf.
Now her career low round is 84 and a long drive that measured out at 270 yards! She is on her second golf season and the future looks very bright (better wear shades). Troy is very proud of Kim’s work on all aspects of her golf game and thankful for the 6 referrals that she has sent to him. It is a pleasure working with someone as dedicated and fun as Kim!

Why wouldn’t you…….

Let’s establish some desired goals of what should and could be happening in a golfers “swing” at contact. If our goal as coaches is to teach and train students to play better golf via club/ball contact, there is a simple way by using the most frequently purchased training aid (it’s also the most under-appreciated training aid by students and golf instructors).
What are the necessary components of a solid, compressed impact? Hands ahead, proper path, proper club face and body rotation. There are sub-components, but the above truly identify what can and should happen at contact. Maybe all students should be introduced to the “Impact Bag”. If instructed on how to use this aid correctly and practiced correctly, all of the above can be discovered! The necessary drills are in our Drill Section – check them out.
With my students, I have added in training on the Impact Bag that the “Bag is the Ball” and the “Ball is the Bag”. Successful implementation of the Impact Bag will provide body rotation, hands ahead, proper path and club face. When we then turn to the golf ball (aka the “White Impact Bag”) the student can follow through and replicate the solid, compressing impact and therein is the success! A path of inside 4 degrees and an open face of 2 degrees creates an interesting phenomenon as well – the momentum can take a student to a post impact “released” golf club. Maybe we don’t really swing an iron – maybe it is a turn, impact, and keep turning… Why wouldn’t you……
