All the clubs in my bag have been fit using a Vector Launch monitor and GolfTEC’s club fitting technology, g-FIT. I highly recommend this service to anyone that’s serious about improving their golf game in 2009.
All my clubs are Men’s Standard Lengths. My irons are bent 1 degree flat and 2 degrees strong. I also play 3 hybrids. I have found that the # 2 hybrid can go as long as my 3 wood in the summer when the fairways are hard and running. The 5 hybrid replaces my 5 iron and gives me more versatility than a 5 iron.
My driver is a TaylorMade 2008 Tour Burner TP with an 8.5 degree loft and Matrix-Ozik regular flex graphite. I use the 2009 TaylorMade Tour Preferred Irons for my 6, 7, 8, and 9. For my longer irons, 2, 4, and 5, I use the TaylorMade Burner Rescue with lofts of 17, 22, and 25 degrees. All of my irons, including my pitching wedge, have Project X 5.5 steel shafts.
My new TaylorMade Z wedges, 52, 55, and 60 degrees, have been very effective around the greens. The grooves in my old wedges were very worn down and I did not realize how much spin I was losing. For my 3 and 5 woods I use the TaylorMade Burner Re-Ax with regular flex.
My putter is a Coutour Carnoustie, 32 inches long and 365 grams with a Midsize Coutour Winn Putter grip. Being fit for a putter has turned my game around, I was always a marginal putter at best. My putting has improved 100% since being fit. I wish I had had this putter fit 25 years ago when I was still actively competing.
At GolfTEC Arrowhead we have been doing Ball fittings to determine which type of golf ball is best suited for your swing. We found that the TaylorMade Burner TP Ball was the best match for my clubhead speed and still allowed me feel and control around the greens.
