Game Tracking is no Longer for Tour Players Alone
Many golfers think that merely hitting the ball farther or buying new equipment will make the most significant change in their game. The reality is that many golfers don’t realize EXACTLY what is causing them to lose all of those precious strokes.
Game tracking is the best way to begin to understand where the strokes are really lost. Even though someone may not hit the ball very far off of the tee box, the real reason for the high scores could be the 4-8 three-putts each round. Having a better understanding of your game allows your Certified Personal Coach to guide your efforts together.
Success acceleration at all levels.
If you are a beginner, game tracking will help you understand the game at a more accelerated pace, shaving months off your learning curve. Even during the early stages of a player’s development, not all aspects of the game warrant the same level of effort or urgency. Game tracking makes it easier to set priorities, from swing mechanics to basic course management (e.g., club selection).
Game tracking helps a low handicapper prepare more effectively for both league and tournament play. You can understand your strengths and weaknesses better and therefore prepare for specific pin placements, spots to hit on the fairway, etc. before a competitive round.
More importantly, game tracking will help you monitor your progress as you and your Coach work together on your game. Sometimes you can be improving, but not necessarily shooting lower scores immediately. Improvement is energizing, so why not have proof of it?
Put the tools on your radar screen.
GolfTEC Improvement Centers including Game Tracking as part of 3, 6, and 12-month Improvement Plans. Simply jotting down a few key metrics after each hole will give you all of the information you need to accurately keep track of your entire game. After your round, just a few minutes are needed to enter your round into the g-TRACK system. The integrated software merges the new round with previous activity to make trend-spotting easier. Similar programs are available ala carte and online, but represent marginal potential when used without review by a Coach who understands your game and goals.
Play at your best. Capture the good, bad, and ugly through consistent Game Tracking. Like the Pros, your game will come into sharp focus, and every practice ball hit is now worth the time and energy you’ve invested.
