SOLHEIM CUP PARTNERSHIP SHOWCASES GOLFTEC’S COMMITMENT
By Aimee Lirette,
GolfTEC Market Development Manager
GolfTEC, with over 140 Improvement Centers in North America, is a proud partner of the 2009 Solheim Cup at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, IL on August 17–23. With a focus on growing the game, GolfTEC is the Exclusive Technology Partner of the Solheim Cup FORE Kids Activity. This interactive experience will draw junior golfers and students from throughout the greater Chicago area during the week of the Solheim Cup. Interactive stations sponsored by GolfTEC and others will provide hands-on experiences focused on the science of golf, as well as the history and rules of the game.
With this partnership, GolfTEC extends its commitment to growing the game of golf including the participation of avid and aspiring women players. For several years, GolfTEC has provided funding and instructional opportunities for members of the Executive Women’s Golf Association (EWGA). With 20,000 members in over 120 chapters in the United States, EWGA’s mission is to connect women to learn to play, and enjoy golf for business and for fun.
The 2009 golf season brought an additional relationship forward with Women on Course (WOC). This relatively new initiative is focused on connecting and encouraging participation in the golf lifestyle among women by highlighting the social, business, and fitness benefits of the game. Through creative event formats, entry to golf programs, traveling with trunk shows, membership and connections through their online clubhouse, WOC provides a welcoming environment for women both entering and active in the game.
Attendees at the Solheim Cup, as well as women participating in EWGA and Women on Course, will see how GolfTEC combines personal coaching with advanced instructional technology. All with the end goal, as GolfTEC CEO and cofounder Joe Assell would say, “to hit better shots, enjoy the game more, and build the game around the world.”
