East Hanover
Client of the Month
GolfTEC East Hanover client of the month for July is Greg Dawidowicz of Montville, NJ. Greg just finished his junior season on the Montville Township High School golf team. He was a solid contributor to a Mustang team that earned an impressive 16-3-1 match record while playing in the highly competitive Northern Hills Athletic Conference. By the end of the season, Greg was voted the Most Improved Player among the MTHS squad having lowered his nine-hole scoring average eleven strokes, from 56 in 2007 to 45 in 2008. Greg’s competitive season was highlighted by a 5-over par 40 at the Knoll East Golf Club and he was further privileged to receive an Honorable Mention to the Northern Hills All-Conference team.
Dawidowicz has worked with GolfTEC Coach Wayne Sciscio since August 2006. The past eight months Greg and Wayne have seen the dramatic improvement in scoring as his handicap has dropped from the mid-20s to its current low of 12.4. The scores have lowered as Greg has improved his fundamentals and worked hard to become comfortable playing the new shots those fundamentals provide. Player and Coach know they have a long way to go as both expect similar improvement over the next 12 months as they approach Greg’s senior season.
West Paterson
Client of The Month
GolfTEC West Paterson would like to congratulate Jim Scott of Pequannock as its client of the month. Jim has been taking lessons with Coach TJ Scillieri since October 2007 and has been able to make some significant changes to his golf game.
This can be seen in his golf league. Jim plays in the “Rhythm and Blues Golf League” at the Meadows. Last year, Jim was the B player of his team and finished in the bottom half of the league. After a winter of committing to his golf game, Jim has become the A player in his group, going from a 13 handicap to a nine handicap. He also has the most wins in his league and his team is currently in second place (out of 30 teams) so far this season.
Over the last nine months, Jim has totally revamped his game. He had too much going on in his swing and one problem compounded into four more. With that, Jim and TJ worked on cutting down and simplifying the swing, focusing on fundamentals. By stabilizing the lower body and shortening the backswing, Jim can now use more body to move through the ball at impact. By increasing his turns at impact and quieting the hands, he has found more consistency, which is leading to more fairways hit and greens in regulation.
Congratulations again Jim and good luck with the rest of the season.
