Named Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2008 Award Winners in the
Rocky Mountain Region
Award Recognizes Entrepreneurial Excellence in Service Category
Denver, CO., June 20, 2008 – GolfTEC Enterprises, LLC., the world’s largest golf instruction company with over 128 locations, today announced that Joe Assell and Mike Clinton received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2008 Award in the service category in the Rocky Mountain Region. According to Ernst & Young LLP, the award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who are building and leading dynamic, growing businesses. Assell and Clinton were selected by an independent panel of judges, and the award was presented at a gala event at the Belmar Center on June 19, 2008.
“After giving 1.4 million lessons to 120,000 clients through over 350 PGA Professionals, we’ve seen how important it is to balance vision against the gritty realities of business operations. The growing GolfTEC leadership team continues to take what was once a one-Coach Denver business and multiply our success through Corporate and Franchise locations – now including Mexico,” states Assell.
The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year awards celebrate their 22nd anniversary this year. The program honors entrepreneurs who have demonstrated exceptionality in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.

As a Rocky Mountain Region award winner, Assell and Clinton are now eligible for consideration for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2008 national program. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the overall national Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award winner, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, California on November 15, 2008. The awards are the concluding portion of the Strategic Growth Forum, the nation’s most prestigious gathering of high-growth, market-leading companies.
