GolfTEC Success Story—Liam Wood
How this young GolfTEC Player developed a championship swing
Patrick Nuber, GolfTEC Manager of Teaching Quality
See the changes that this young golfer has made in improving his swing. Liam has been taking lessons with Russ Clark in GolfTEC Boulder since December 2011. In that time he’s made huge progress and is winning some big junior tournaments. “Liam is an amazing kid. He has a strong dedication to the game and is always working to get better,” says GolfTEC Coach Russ Clark. Watch video to see what they’ve been working on in the GolfTEC bays.
But it hasn’t been all focused on his swing mechanics. Liam and Russ have worked on course management a lot. “Because Liam is only six, we added some strategy to his bunker play,” says Clark, “Some long bunker shots are impossible because of his lack of clubhead speed so he plays around deep bunkers more and when he does get into a tough situation, he plays out to the short side if he can’t go straight for the flag.”
Congratulations to this aspiring golfer. A lifetime of better golf is clearly on his horizon!
