Jeff Hagen is GolfTEC Kansas City client of the month for June. Jeff started working with Coach Ryan Carpenter at our Overland Park location a year ago in May. He wanted to work with GolfTEC to ‰¥þimprove ball striking and consistency in my swing.‰¥ÿ His scoring average when he started was in the low 100s and he was struggling to find anything positive in a round of golf.åÊ After much hard work and practice over the last year he came in and told us that he shot his career round, an 88!åÊ Thanks to his hard work, practice time each week, new custom fit clubs and dedication his game is continually improving.åÊ Congratulations Jeff on your career round and keep up the great work!

Club Fitting and Options
One of the biggest ways to improve your game, outside of swing changes, is by using clubs that are custom fit to your swing. Did you realize that a club that is extended å¸ inch longer than standard length is the equal to added one degree of upright angle to the club face? That one degree of change can be enough to cause an off-line shot on even the most accurate of swings. Did you know that less than 50% of players are custom fit for their irons less than 10% are fit for their drivers and less than 1% are fit for their putters? Your GolfTEC Learning Center offers FREE custom fitting with the purchase of a set of irons, driver, or putter. A standard fitting without the purchase of a new iron set, driver, or putter is priced at $50 per fitting. Both Kansas City Learning Centers have accounts with TaylorMade, Cleveland, Ping, Mizuno, Callaway, and Coutour Golf. Don't fight your own clubs, make them work for you. Who better to fit you to a new club than the people who know your swing the best? Call your Coach to set up a time to find what club specs work best for your swing.
This is Your Best Season Yet
Let's make 2008 your best golf season ever. There are several ways to help you do that. It's very important to set goals for every season. Do you want to get rid of that fade, start hitting that stinger 3 iron off of the tee, or just shorten your backswing? Whatever your goals, make sure that you book all of your lessons and practice in advance and make sure that you are in a set schedule to see the improvement that you are searching for. Lessons can be booked up to 8 months in advance. Practice can be booked up to 3 weeks in advance with a guarantee of 90 minutes per week. All of our coaches' books are filling up quickly with students looking to improve, so if you have a specific day and time that you want for your lesson you need to get it set before it disappears. Remember that the national call center can book lessons for you farther in advance than you can online so please take advantage of them as much as possible.
We highly recommend booking your lessons as far in advance as possible through one of three ways:
1.åÊåÊåÊåÊåÊåÊåÊåÊ Use your User ID and password and book online through your WebLesson area. (Log on to www.golftec.com/members put in your user ID and password. Click the Scheduling tab and then Make Appt. Your store location and Coach should already be set. Set the appointment type and click the day you are looking to take your lesson or practice time. Your Coaches availability will show up below the calendar. Click and make the appointment and you are done.)
2.åÊåÊåÊåÊåÊåÊåÊåÊ Call our Nationwide Call Center to book your appointment when you cannot get to your computer. Their toll free number is 1-877-4GolfTEC. Or (1-877-446-5383)
3.åÊåÊåÊåÊåÊåÊåÊåÊ Call the store that you are looking to schedule your lesson. This can be a difficult selection because there may be times where our coaches will be in lessons and may not be able to get to the phone. It may take some time to get a returned phone call based on lesson schedules. We would recommend that you use this as your last option.
Practice ALL SUMMER for $70 per Month
All GolfTEC Kansas City locations are offering a three-month practice membership for $199.00 (+tax)! If you are a current student who no longer has a valid practice membership, now is the time to renew. The three-month practice membership will allow you to use the digital video feedback/reply, motion sensors (if directly after your lesson), lines of reference, tour player comparison, and the state of the art ball flight simulation data. If you are a client who has not used or participated within the ‰¥þPractice Time‰¥ÿ, see your instructor for a complimentary 30-minute practice session and truly see the benefits of practicing indoors! The driving range is a great tool to test your swing once it is built, but the indoor training facility is THE PLACE to build the swing FIRST.
Short Game and Playing Lessons for 2008
Short game lessons are starting this month at Sycamore Ridge Golf Course. Short game lessons are a one on one private one-hour lesson with your Coach and use two lesson credits from your program package. Short game lessons cover everything from chipping and putting to bunker play and shots inside 100 yards. Playing lessons are also available and are a great way to start transitioning your hard work from the teaching bay indoors, to the golf course for practical application. Normal green fees apply for on course playing lessons and are the responsibility of the student. Each Coach will have set days throughout the year for these options. To book an outdoor lesson you'll need to contact the facility you use as these Short Game times will not be available to schedule through the online scheduling system.

New Short Game Dates and Facility
GolfTEC Kansas City is proud to announce an exciting new relationship with Sycamore Ridge Golf Course. Beginning this month all GolfTEC Coaches will have the ability to teach outdoor short game lessons at one of Kansas City䴜s finest golf facilities.
Sycamore Ridge has been consistently voted by Golf Digest as one the state䴜s ten best public golf courses since its inception and has been voted Kansas City䴜s #1 public course four years in a row. Sycamore Ridge boasts one of Kansas City䴜s finest practice facilities and we are delighted to partner with them to help improve your overall game.
As always, we recommend that all students devote at least three full hours to the short game (you䴜re your PGA GolfTEC Professional/Coach) including putting, chipping and pitching, and bunker play. Sycamore Ridge has also been gracious enough to allow our Coaches to use their driving range for shots inside 100 yards such as knock down shots, punch shots, and longer distance pitching techniques. We will also have the ability to use the golf course to teach all facets of course management.

The following is a letter written to Brian Wilson at the Plaza West location from a client that he has been coaching for several months:
Brian,
I wanted to write and thank you for the time you䴜ve spent with me over the last few months.
With spring here, I have been able to get out to the range and the course and I am striking the ball better than I ever have. The best part is that when I miss hit a ball now I know what I䴜ve done and why the ball reacted the way it did. I totally understand the reason why we broke my swing down into so many different parts and worked so intricately on each of them. It䴜s very rewarding to see progress now that I䴜m putting it all together.
I don䴜t know if you remember, but when we first started I mentioned dreading to pull a long iron out of my bag; now I look forward to it. I䴜m hitting more fairways with longer drives and just striking the ball much better overall. Consistency in my swing is what I was after and I know I䴜m getting there.
