Client of The Month
The GolfTEC - Kansas City Client of the Month is Erin Andres. Erin started working with Nick Vaughn at our Overland Park facility in February of 2007. She has been able to set and accomplish goals for her game like no other! Her initial goals were break 90 on a regular basis and to make her high school golf team. Last summer she was able to not only break 90 but to shoot her career low for both 9 and 18 holes, a 42 and 87 respectively. This fall she was also able to not only make the varsity team at her school but she also ended up qualifying for the state championships! Her most recent career milestone was not one of her initial goals but it is an amazing accomplishment; Erin earned a college golf scholarship to Regis University in Denver, Colorado. Congratulations Erin on all of your success. Through hard work and determination you have made amazing strides in your golf game and the GolfTEC - Kansas City staff wishes our 1st ever college golf scholarship winner all the best and many more low rounds in the future!

Club Fitting and Equipment Analysis
All GolfTEC facilities nationwide have just released our NEW Personal Club Fitting (PCF) system. The new system incorporates all aspects of club fitting technology to help you to discover hidden performance barriers through equipment analysis. Fitting expertise equals guidance so that we can focus on what matters most such as shaft bend profile, loft/lie/length, and set configuration. At the end of your PCF you will get a comparison of all current makes and models available through all manufacturers to give you the confidence to know that you are playing equipment that optimizes your game!
Make sure that your game is at its peak. Getting fit by your Coach is a great way to insure that your equipment has a positive effect on your game. Be sure to contact your Coach to schedule your Iron, Driver or Putter fitting in preparation for the 2009 golf season.


Booking Lessons
  1. Use your User ID and password and book online through your weblesson area. Log on to www.golftec.com/members put in your user ID and password. Click the Scheduling tab and then Make Appt. Your store location and Instructor should already be set. Set the appointment type and click the day you are looking to take your lesson or practice time. Your Coaches availability will show up below the calendar. Click and make the appointment and you are done.
  2. Call the GolfTEC Nationwide Call Center to book your appointment when you cannot get to your computer. Their toll free number is 1-877-4GolfTEC. Or (1-877-446-5383)
  3. Call the store that you are looking to schedule your lesson. This can be a difficult selection because there may be times where our coaches will be in lessons and may not be able to get to the phone. It may take some time to get a returned phone call based on lesson schedules. We would recommend that you use this as your last option.


Construction Update at GolfTEC - Overland Park
Construction continues at the Cherokee South Shopping Center. As construction continues there are plans that will cause other entrances to be closed or blocked off for days or weeks at a time. Please be aware that we will still maintain our regular business hours but you may need to find a different entrance to get to our location than you are used to. As of writing this the only entrance point to our parking lot is by turning off of 95th street, all routes from Antioch to our store front continue to unavailable.

Shortgame and Playing Lessons for 2009
Shortgame and Playing Lessons are in full swing, no pun intended! GolfTEC - Kansas City is proud to continue our relationship with Dubs Dread Golf Course. The use of their short game facilities and golf course for playing lessons has helped to make the changes in-bay translate directly to the course! As a reminder, short game lessons are a one on one private 1 hour lesson with your Coach and use 2 lesson credits from your program package. Short game lessons cover everything from chipping and putting to bunker play and shots inside 100 yards. Playing lessons are a 3 hour lesson and use 4 lesson credits from your program package. Normal green fees will apply and will be the responsibility of the student.

Each Coach has set times throughout the year for these options. To book an outdoor lesson you'll need to contact the facility you use as these Short Game times will not be available to schedule through the online scheduling system. As always, we recommend that all students devote at least three full hours to the short game (with your PGA GolfTEC Certified Professional Coach) including putting, chipping and pitching, and bunker play. The driving range will be used to work on shots from 100 yards and in. We also have the ability to use the golf course to teach all facets of course management.

Coutour Putter Makes the Golf Digest Hot List
Custom fitting putters is not new to the PGA Tour but to the rest of the world a custom fit putter is not something that crosses most golfers' minds. Coutour Golf is one of the only companies on the market that offer fully customized putters to the general public, not just the PGA Tour. Coutour is only available through Certified PGA Professionals nationwide; therefore you will not find their putters on the internet or at most large retailers such as Golf Galaxy or Dick's Sporting Goods.
