NORTH JERSEY
Client of The Month
*East Brunswick
GolfTEC East Brunswick's Client of the Month is Chad Aaron. Michael Damhoff and Chad have been working on his swing for about eight months. He has gone from being very disconnected and hitting the ball left and right to being more in control and getting on plane. He has played six times this season and shot under par three of those times. His goals are to be able to play in some mini tour events later on in his golf career. Mike and Chad are currently working on getting his club to be on plane and get his hands to be ahead of the ball at impact. He is progressing nicely and they only foresee him getting better.
*Paramus
The Paramus Client of the Month is Mike Farruggio of Haverstraw, NY. Mike Started working with Mike Beshaw last summer. They decided to work on some basics over the summer, then really work hard on changing some bad habits over the winter of 2008-09.
The plan worked very well, and they made good progress on Mike's swing. In early may, Mike took an hour putting lesson with Tom Howard. They actually spend almost the whole hour only working on Mike's putting setup. After that lesson, Mike shot 4 consecutive rounds of 72-69-71-71 at Spook Rock and Rockland Lakes GC. Recently, Mike said, "My game is the best its ever been."
Great job Mike! Keep up the good work and we're sure you'll see more rounds in the 60s this year!
*West Paterson
Congratulation's to GolfTEC Client of the Month, Kyle Watzich. Early this month, Kyle won the Passaic County Tournament which is played by the area high schools. He was able to come out on top amongst some strong competition.
Kyle has been working with West Paterson's instructor, Chris Coates since March of 2009. One of the positions that we are currently working hard on is getting the hands out of the takeaway and using more shoulders. This allows him to bring the club back and down on plane more consistently, resulting in better contact. Kyle had the tendency to release the hands early, causing the club face to change position and add tremendous amounts of loft to the club. He has worked hard on leading with the hands by practicing and focusing on his short game. This allows him to hit lower trajectory shots with more accuracy.
With his extreme work ethic in place, he has a lot of good years ahead of him. We commend him for practicing as much as he does to separate himself from the field. When you commit to working hard on your game you will become successful. It was a pleasure for us to give him his first Gold Hat and we look forward to giving him many more. We would also like to wish him luck in the upcoming State Section event at the end of the month.
Again, we like to congratulate Kyle for being Client of the Month at West Paterson and for the time he has spent working on his game.
*East Hanover
Craig Gill of Morristown is GolfTEC East Hanover's Client of the Month for June. Craig has been working with GolfTEC Coach Wayne Sciscio since January 2008. After working to improve Gill's address and top position, he and Sciscio have focused mainly on down swing path and the shaft angle at impact. It did not take too long to be able to execute inside of the GolfTEC bay and recently the results have begun to show up on the course. Craig broke 100 for the first time by shooting 98 at Pinch Brook Golf Course in mid May. As he becomes more comfortable with the changes it won't be long before Craig can expect to break 90.
*Englewood
Louis Flancbaum is GolfTEC Englewood's Client of the Month. Louis is currently in the midst of a 12 Month Plan. He takes lessons weekly and practices regularly. Recently, Louis shot his record round of 92. He said that he felt that he never hit the ball better and each shot came off crisper and sharper than he has ever experienced. With his GolfTEC Coach, Sung Hong, they are working every week to gain the consistency Louis needs to shoot lower scores. Congratulations Louis!
