Now that the holidays are behind us it’s time to start thinking about golf season. If the new clubs you were hoping for weren’t under the tree, there are several new releases that will suit most any golfer. Just take a look at what’s new from TaylorMade, PING, and Callaway.
TaylorMade Jetspeed
TaylorMade’s new JetSpeed driver, fairway and rescue offer all the speed and distance we’ve come to expect at a price point that won’t break the bank. At just $299.99, the JetSpeed driver is the first to incorporate the Speed Pocket technology which results in higher ball speed on shots hit low on the face. They’ve also kept the center of gravity low and forward to help keep spin down to keep the ball from ballooning. The JetSpeed driver comes standard with the Matrix Velox T 49 gram shaft at 46” in length, so it is long and light for faster swing speed. Although it lacks the moveable weight technology of the SLDR, JetSpeed still lets you change loft and packs plenty of punch. Add a matching fairway and rescue and you’re ready to tee it up.

Callaway X2 Hot
Coming off the success of Callaway’s X Hot and X Hot Pro line will be the X2 Hot & X2 Hot Pro metal woods and irons. The most significant improvement in the X2 Hot driver is that the face is hotter in areas outside the sweet spot. They’ve done this by changing the pattern of thickness throughout the face, and tests have shown that ball speed is averaging 1.5 MPH faster than X Hot with this design. Following the lead of the driver, the irons also feature a thinner face that produces greater ball speed. They have also increased stability by improving the arch on the back of the face. The new arch design provides increased stiffness on the face where it’s needed most and improves ball speed consistency for more predictable distance. The entire X2 Hot family will be available January 16th.
