Thanks for Sharing!

Social media, golf and your brand: A match made in postable heaven.
Considering the seemingly endless number of social media platforms out there, from Facebook to Twitter to LinkedIn to Instagram to … the list goes on, it’s almost funny to remember a world where one of marketing’s most old-school methods of the modern era – the radio of TV commercial jingle – was king of hill, and nearly the only game in town to boot.
C’mon, you remember the days: Introduce a catchy slogan or song, and there you have it – people will know your brand and buy over and over again because of it.
Ahh, doesn’t life seem so simple back then?
But, yes, we digress.
In today’s fast-paced, share-EVERYTHING world, while some of these core methods are noted to still work very well, if you’re not living in the fast lane along with it to push your brand any way you can, you’re left stuck in a corner, holding the proverbial microphone with no customers to listen. So …
Set the Table and Join the Party
Last month, we discussed how directly appealing to a client’s emotional “pain” and connecting on a personal level to emanate the understanding of shared values, can forever imprint a favorable brand view that will thus lead to a better chance of purchase.
If we boil that down to merely a simplified cause and effect, a secondary, or parallel, effect of this newly-enhanced personal connection is an increased motivation to share that favorable brand view for the rest of the world to see as well.
Marketers and brands are obviously well aware of this, but perhaps the most important factor leading to someone sharing their experience starts with presenting the opportunity to do it in the first place.
At GolfTEC Events, our engagements naturally play into a sharing-friendly platform because of two simple, yet powerful, reasons:
1. Golf is FUN and people love telling others about it!
2. The infused, customized brand message from our engagements is viewed synonymously and positively, leading the participant inadvertently becoming an extended brand ambassador.
Or, in other words:
Don’t tend to post all that often, but just got my golf swing compared to the pros by Wally’s Widgets at Widgetfest and you need to check this out if you’re here!!! #wallyswidgets #widgetfest2015 #ilovewidgets
Just received my WebLesson from the Wally’s Widgets Swing Analysis at Widgetfest 2015 and WOW! Already feel like a better golfer and can’t wait to get out and play! #wallyswidgets #widgetfest2015 #golf #thisrocks
You've Set the Table, Now Deliver the Goods
It’s one thing to set the scene for effective, sharable experiences, but if your engagement is, well, not very engaging or poorly executed, no one will want to share it or, even worse, they’ll share it, but cast in your brand in a negative light, which may do more damage than help.
The moral of the story: If you’re going to do it, do it right!
GolfTEC Events engagements deliver appealing, organized and FUN experiences in this regard … events people will share in a positive way, all tied back to the brand.
And, speaking of sharing …
We often relay the three key stats regarding participants from our engagements, because our engagements not only properly set the table, but deliver the goods as well!
Considering the branded post-event connection our experiences create with participants:
• 85% click on the emailed WebLesson they receive!
• Once they do, they spend an average of 16 MINUTES on that branded website viewing their lesson!
• They then return an average of 2.6 times to view the lesson again!
Goods Delivered. So Reap the Rewards
Alright, so you’ve created an opportunity for people to share the experience and then delivered an effective, polished package that’s created buzz and participant-sharing all over the map.
Considering this new world of instant gratification and what-have-you-done-for-me-lately attitudes, this is the true measure of ROI because, in revisiting the ideal effect accrued from the aforementioned jingle?
Yes, there you have it – people will know your brand and buy over and over again because of it.
And that’s some #trending that won’t go out of style anytime soon.
