00:00:15.120 one that I see with a lot of golfers
00:00:16.680 who've been playing golf for a while,
00:00:17.685 [music] especially in their lead knee.
00:00:19.280 It starts to hurt, starts to make golf
00:00:21.360 really not that enjoyable. So I've got a
00:00:23.120 couple things that can help you here.
00:00:24.840 First and foremost, it's really
00:00:25.920 important to understand just [music] why
00:00:27.200 it happens. So your knee is a joint
00:00:29.280 that's not really meant to rotate, it's
00:00:31.280 meant to hinge. What happens with the
00:00:32.960 golf swing is when you build in rotation
00:00:34.960 and your hips don't move like [music]
00:00:36.200 they used to, that's going to put a lot
00:00:37.920 of stress on your knees, some stress on
00:00:39.600 your ankles. So a couple ways that you
00:00:41.440 can fix that. Let's jump up on the mat,
00:00:43.000 we'll talk [music] about how we can work
00:00:44.080 through that and relieve that knee pain
00:00:45.840 for you so that you don't have that
00:00:47.040 problem. So like we talked about,
00:00:48.720 rotation is the big problem. So here's a
00:00:50.760 couple things in your setup that you can
00:00:52.320 do to make rotation in your hips a
00:00:53.920 little bit easier, that's going to take
00:00:55.120 some pressure off your knee. The first
00:00:56.960 one, flare your feet, both of them, at
00:00:59.480 address. This is about a 10 to 15°
00:01:01.570 [music]
00:01:02.480 movement here. So see how my toes point
00:01:04.519 out towards the side? It's going to make
00:01:06.240 it easier for me to turn, it's also
00:01:08.160 going to add some mobility to my knee.
00:01:10.480 When I move into the follow through,
00:01:11.560 it's going to allow it to move more
00:01:12.560 towards [music] the target. So that's
00:01:14.240 the first thing, you want to make sure
00:01:15.360 you flare your feet. Do not point your
00:01:16.840 toes at the golf ball, that's the worst
00:01:18.200 thing you can do for rotation. So we've
00:01:19.840 got our feet flared, the second one is
00:01:22.000 just the width of your stance. I see a
00:01:23.400 lot of golfers who have their stance far
00:01:25.240 too wide. Yes, this adds some stability,
00:01:28.120 makes it easier to keep your balance.
00:01:30.120 Problem is, it makes it harder to turn.
00:01:31.720 So narrow your stance, you want to be
00:01:33.400 about shoulder width, maybe even
00:01:34.560 slightly inside of that. Flare your
00:01:36.360 feet, that's going to help you with the
00:01:37.800 rotation, that's going to take a ton of
00:01:39.120 pressure off your knee, make it much
00:01:40.760 easier for you. If this or anything else
