Mizuno is back with new woods to follow up their most successful wood line to date

By Sabrina Naccarato

We all know Mizuno produces some of the top irons in the equipment game. From the JPX 919 to the new MP20 irons, pure is an understatement. As Mizuno has led the iron field for years, their woods have lagged a little behind compared to other big hitters like TaylorMade and Callaway, until last year.

In 2019, Mizuno launched the ST190 wood line and created a driver that kept up with the likes of the M5, M6, and Epic Flash. So to capitalize on such a successful woods launch, Mizuno has released the new ST200 line which is slated to be even better than their predecessors.

The ST200 driver line features three models and each is designed for a specific type of golfer. The ST200G is best for high swing speed efficiency, the ST200X is best for mid and lower swing speeds and you’ll find the ST200 in the hands of golfers looking for low spin forgiveness. With each driver featuring an adjustable hosel, I’m certain just about any golfer could find the perfect fit out of the ST200 line.

However, this line of woods isn’t just about new innovations and improvements over last year’s clubs. This is also the first time the company’s Japanese and U.S. R&D teams have come together to produce one product across the board.

“Combining our US and Japan Tour metalwood development is a natural evolution for Mizuno in 2020. We can now combine Japan’s exotic materials and craftsman’s eye for playing profiles, with our expertise of working with modern tour players like Keith Mitchell. 2020 is set to be a huge year for Mizuno in metalwoods,” said Chris Voshall, Mizuno club engineer.
