00:00:00 - Lexi struggles with hitting behind the ball and a chicken wing in her follow-through, and the speaker offers an easy drill to help fix these golf issues.

00:00:27 - Using two golf tees placed under each armpit helps golfers prevent excessive elbow flex and chicken winging by encouraging proper arm positioning during the swing.

00:01:10 - The objective is to practice swings while keeping the tees under your arms without a ball, focusing on keeping your elbows close to your chest like top players do.

00:01:57 - The exercise exaggerates keeping your elbows close and arms straight during a golf swing to develop the sensation of proper form before gradually adding speed and hitting a ball.

00:02:44 - Hold your finish by staying still after hitting the ball and completing your swing.

00:02:54 - Keeping your elbows close together and arms straight during the follow-through helps prevent the lead arm from flexing too much and maintains proper contact.

⛳ Using two golf tees under your armpits during practice swings helps prevent the 'chicken wing' and keeps your elbows close together.

🦾 Practicing half-speed, half-length swings without a ball exaggerates the correct arm position and builds muscle memory for better contact.

🎥 Holding your finish and checking elbow position after a swing can visually confirm if you've fixed the chicken wing issue.

00:00:00 - All right, Lexi, we're here today. It's fix your fault time. Um, what are you struggling with most right now in your golf? So, my biggest problems are I tend to hit behind the ball and I also have a pretty big chicken wing in my follow through, which is not very ideal. No, it doesn't look pretty. Chicken wings are great to eat. They're not great for your golf swing. So, um, let's talk about a easy drill that you can use and a simple way that you can fix that if this is your problem at home.

00:00:27 - Easy easy way to fix this. All you need two golf tees. Okay, so what you're struggling with is what is very common for a lot of golfers. They tend to have too much elbow flex throughout their swing. Um when you start to flex your elbows, sometimes you pull your arms away from your body. Um so that can lead to some of those chicken wing problems that you're talking about. So with two golf tees, you can really easily solve this problem. You're just going to put

00:00:49 - one under each armpit. Okay? And we're going to make some swings where you don't drop those tees. So, if you were to do this incorrectly, if I had two T's under my under one under each armpit and I made that swing and had that same problem that you're struggling with, you can see those TE's are going to fall out. Yeah. Okay. So, what we're going to do is just make some practice swings. We're going to do this without a golf ball first, just so you can get a sensation for what's going on, and then

00:01:09 - we'll introduce a ball. But your objective is really just to make some swings and keep these TE's under your arm. Okay? I can already foresee these falling out. It's okay. You just need one under each arm. Such a weird feeling. do this without a ball first. So, I don't want you to I don't want you to start with a golf ball. It's okay. You're excited. So, full swing first. Go. So, go like half speed, half length. So, you're not going to go full swing. You're only going to

00:01:33 - probably go back to like hip or chest high. Good. You can see how you're basically keeping your arms really close to your chest. You're not allowing your elbows to separate, which is a really indicative. Like, that's what the best players in the world do when they're hitting a golf shot. So, their elbows don't get that far apart. They keep their arms really straight. And it does feel like my elbows are a lot closer than I'm used to because I have a chicken wing. But is this supposed to

00:01:56 - simulate exactly what I'm doing or just get the feel of it? So, this is more of just a way to kind of exaggerate it and get a sensation for what's going on when you actually hit a golf shot and make a full swing. Like your elbows are going to have some amount of flex. They're going to separate a little bit and that's fine, but your problem is you do too much of it. So, we want to go the extreme opposite and basically get you the sensation that your elbows are as

00:02:15 - close together as possible the entire time and that your arms stay really straight. This would be a really good way to do that. Good. So, you do that three or four times. You've done that really well. You haven't dropped the TE's once. Okay. So, now let's introduce a golf ball. Same length of swing. Okay. Start kind of small. Go slow. And then as you feel more comfortable with this, you just add more and more speed. Good. Sounded like pretty good contact. Yeah. So, really nice contact there. Do

00:02:41 - do one more for me. Okay. And on this one, I want you to hold your finish. So, don't move once you actually hit the ball and finish your swing. Just stay in that

00:02:54 - position. Good. So, you can see like if you were uh setting up a camera at home, your elbow wouldn't be popping out from your torso. That chicken wing is gone because your arms are really straight. So, like if you can show everybody like what that finish position looks like. Rotate around. Yep. You can see how her elbows are really close together. Those TE's are still under the armpits. This would be a really good way if you struggle with that problem of having your lead arm flex too much in the

00:03:17 - follow through and your your uh armpit kind of separate from your body. That would make it really easy for you to keep your arms straight, keep your elbows close together, and potentially solve that contact problem.
