Meet GolfTEC Deerfield Certified Personal Coach Jason Reeser, our March Coach of the Month!

By GolfTEC Digital

Our GolfTEC Coaches have a passion for helping people play better golf, and each month we highlight a Coach that goes above and beyond for his or her students. In February we introduced GolfTEC Timonium Coach Rob Oxley, and we’re back in March with another exceptional GolfTEC Coach, Jason Reeser.

Jason Reeser GolfTECJason is a Certified Personal Coach at GolfTEC Deerfield in Illinois, with over 10 years of experience in the golf industry. A graduate of the Ferris State Golf Management Program and PGA Member, Jason’s coaching ability and knowledge of the game have had a significant impact on his students. Here’s what Mark L. had to say about his time with Jason:

“I’ve been thrilled to have Jason as an instructor. In just the short time taking lessons, I’d say I’ve taken seven to ten strokes off my score. Even my golf buddies have been impressed. He’s not only helped me in every aspect of my game, but with his help I have a lot more comfort and confidence over the ball and I’m no longer timid when matched with players I don’t know. I cannot recommend Jason enough. He’s very knowledgeable and patient, and is very effective at explaining the proper technique and drills to practice. I’m really looking forward to further improvement as we hit the 2016 golf season.”

We asked Jason a few question about his time at GolfTEC and why he loves being a golf coach. Check it out below!

What drove you to become a golf instructor?

I’ve always enjoyed meeting people and building relationships, and helping students achieve something they’ve never been able to achieve before is what really drives me. When someone tells you they were able to do something better at an older age than when they were younger, that’s pretty cool!

What is the most important thing you’ve learned as an instructor, and your most memorable moment?

The most important thing I’ve learned over time is to be a good listener. My most memorable moment may seem minor, but I had a student achieve his first par and it was pure joy to see how excited and happy it made him!

What is one of your biggest student success stories?

I have a student who has been able to drop his handicap into the low single digits. He won his club championship, and recently shot two consecutive rounds under par in tournament play. To see the high level of play he’s reached is very rewarding.

Why do you like being a coach at GolfTEC? What advantages do you feel GolfTEC provides to help people improve compared to anywhere else?

GolfTEC provides the resources to diagnose the golf swing both effectively and efficiently. Having the combination of live video with motion sensors is a huge advantage as students work to improve their games. New students I teach are constantly blown away by how effective our technology is to help them reach their goals.
